Milestones in Nilead help you mark major checkpoints in your projects — such as the start, review stage, or final delivery. Though optional, milestones are useful for structuring timelines, aligning teams, and grouping related tasks together for better progress tracking.

A milestone is a specific marker in a project timeline. Use them to:
Define project phases (e.g., Planning, Execution, Review)
Signal key events like external approvals or budget checkpoints
Group related tasks under a shared objective
Milestones don’t have to contain tasks, but when used properly, they help teams stay focused and measure progress more clearly.
To create a milestone:
Navigate to Projects from the dashboard.
Select a project where you want to add a milestone.
Open the Milestones tab.
Click Add Milestone.
Fill in:
Title
Description (optional)
Due date or Target completion date
Tags (optional)
Click Save.
Video Guide: Watch how to add a milestone [linked here].
Tags can help you search, group, or filter milestones later. Tags added inline will be created automatically.
Milestones are optional — you don’t need to use them in every project.
Tasks can be added under milestones to group deliverables within a project phase. This makes it easier to monitor progress and delegate responsibility.
To update a milestone:
Go to the milestone inside the project view.
Click Edit.
Update the title, description, due date, or tags as needed.
Click Save.
If a milestone is no longer needed:
Open the milestone.
Click Delete.
Confirm the deletion.
⚠️ Note: Deleting a milestone does not delete the tasks inside it. Tasks will remain in the project without a milestone grouping.
1. Do I have to use milestones in every project?
No. Milestones are optional and only needed if you want to break your project into phases or mark specific points.
2. Can tasks exist without a milestone?
Yes. Tasks can live independently inside a project without being tied to a milestone.
3. Can I move tasks between milestones?
Yes. You can reassign tasks to a different milestone through the task edit view.
4. Can I filter tasks by milestone?
Yes. Nilead lets you filter tasks based on their associated milestone for better project visibility.
5. Are milestone tags shared with task tags?
Tags are shared across entities but can be prefixed or styled for clarity. You can customize tag colors in the CMS.
